Until this point, Callista Clark’s success has felt overwhelmingly virtual.
She was discovered on Facebook when her cover of Creedence Clearwater Revival’s “Have You Ever Seen The Rain?” went viral, she released her debut EP, “Real To Me”, whilst the world was in lockdown at the start of 2021 and even when we interviewed her that same year: It was on Zoom.
During COVID, Clark’s virality turned into real success: With her EP surpassing 50M global streams, her single “It’s ‘Cause I Am” peaking at #22 on the Billboard Country Airplay chart and debuting at the Grand Ole Opry in the Summer of 2021.
But now, as the world returns to semi-normality (I mean, when was the world ever truly “normal” anyway?!), the millions of streams gained on her music to-date are starting to turn into real faces.
Returning to playing shows live (which Clark has been doing since the age of 12, when she performed with Jennifer Nettles), in March Callista Clark found herself in London for Country -2-Country Festival at the O2 Arena, which is where this interview takes place.
Callista Clark sat down with Madeleine Molly at C2C 2022 to talk about being at the festival, lyricism, teasing new music and more.
