Claire Rosinkranz has had one of the most viral songs of 2020.
Whilst TikTok took over the culture during lockdown, Claire decided to quarantine with a friend and “relax”… meaning to not really look at her phone, or the video app, for a month whilst focusing on her future. But, whilst she was busy not being busy, millions of teenagers around the world had another idea.

Creators all over the platform started creating videos to the hooky “Backyard Boy” and, as the sound got more popular, Claire took no notice. That is until she actually went on the app, saw the millions of times her sound had been used, and decided it may be time to do something about this!
Next came the “BeVerly Hills BoYfRiEnd” EP – a collection of songs written over the course of a couple of years, which show an impressive maturity from the artist, considering the platform she’s made her name on. The EP is full of classic jazz influences, electric guitars (played by the artist herself) and lyrics that would resonate with all ages.
And now comes the future; one which Claire is hoping is full of you listening to her music, which won’t all sound the same… even if she does still insists of her Dad producing all of her songs.
James Gilmore sat down with Claire Rosinkranz to talk going viral, producing her whole project with her family and what blowing up in lockdown has taught her.
