The past year has been massive for Hailey Whitters.

Since we interviewed her in 2021
, she has been nominated for a CMT Music Award, played the Grand Ole Opry (again), played more festivals than you can count on two hands, supported Luke Combs in New York, toured with Midland and announced her own Heartland tour.

And now she’s released her second album: Raised.

On the hotly tipped, 17-track album, Whitters revisits her youth and explores the impact it has had on her, even to this day. For example, on title track “Raised”, she sings, “I can’t help that I’m this way… It’s cause I fall how I was raised” – the type of reflection you can get used to on this impressive body of work.

On fan favourite “Everything She Ain’t” (which has gained over 2M streams to-date), Hailey Whitters provides a boost to her ego as she attempts to convince a potential partner to leave their girl, “She sees diamonds, but I’m seein’ stars, you should leave her on an island, dance with me in this bar”. Whilst on “The Neon”, Hailey sings of “the sad part”, once a relationship has broken down and, “there goes your promise, there goes your laugh”.

As with the finest country music, Whitters manages to capture your heart and dreams with just three chords and the truth, once again solidifying her position as one of the most exciting names in modern country music.

Hailey Whitters sat down with Madeleine Molly to talk all about “Raised” and gush about songwriting.
