Tennessee native Russell Dickerson has been working in the country music scene for almost 10 years but has only recently taken off... but what a take-off.
After having to form his own label to release his debut EP in 2011 (simply put: nobody would sign him), he went about writing a series of singles which would go on to form his debut album. Those singles (which include ‘Yours’ and ‘Blue Tacoma’) have charted at #1 on the US Country Airplay charts and have charted in the Top 5 of the US Country Charts.
Then, a major record label couldn’t deny his songwriting power.

His debut album ‘Yours’ (released via Triple Tigers/Sony Music) debut at #5 on the US Country Charts with title track being certified Gold in the US. ‘Yours’ (the single) has also become one of the biggest first-dance wedding songs of the moment, and in 2016 it was even named the top new wedding song of the year by The Knot, even leading him to release a special ‘Wedding Edition’ of the song.
Dickerson is an energetic and lively performer who lives to play shows and connect with his fans. He says, “I’d put country fans against any other genre any day. They’re loyal, lifetime music lovers and I love every last one of ‘em.”

On a recent visit to the UK for Country Music Week (which say him supporting Darius Rucker at the iconic Royal Albert Hall, as well as performing his own sold out, headlining show in London to rave reviews), Russell Dickerson sat down with W!ZARD Radio Station’s James Gilmore.
In the interview they talk about what Russell loves about the UK, the tightknit community of Nashville, the writing process for his song ‘Blue Tacoma’ (and if he was actually driving a blue Tacoma when he was inspired to write it), and if he’ll go carolling with friends Thomas Rhett and Florida Georgia Line’s Tyler Hubbard this Christmas.
