If you live in the UK, you know who Tim Peake is.

The former British Army officer, and European Space Agency astronaut, sparked the nation’s imagination after embarking on the Soyuz TMA-19M mission in 2015 to spend time on-board the International Space Station (ISS).

Having beaten over 9,000 other applications for one of six places on the ESA’s new astronaut training programme, whilst in space Tim Peake participated in the first space walk outside the ISS by a British astronaut.

Having been thrust into the national spotlight, Peake broadcasted a new year message live from space in 2016 and, since landing, has published two books about his time in space.

The latest book, Ask An Astronaut was published by Penguin Random House on 19th October 2017.

To celebrate the launch of his new book, and to discuss his time in space, James Gilmore interviewed Tim Peake.
