World Kindness Day 2019 was on Wednesday 13th November

From stopping to help a random stranger to supporting someone through their tough times; acts of kindness can take a variety of forms.

Scientists and academics at UCLA’s Bedari Kindness Institute say that kindness can extend your life. The new department, led by director Daniel Fessler, has looked at how people can be motivated to be kind simply by witnessing acts of kindness - and working out who is affected by this "contagious kindness".

Mr Fessler defines kindness as "the thoughts, feelings and beliefs associated with actions intending to benefit others, where benefiting others is an end in itself, not a means to an end".

World Kindness Day was on Wednesday 13th November and its purpose was to highlight good deeds in the community, focusing on the positive power of being kind.

With researchers saying that kindness helps the immune system and helps people live longer, on Lekhika Chaudhary’s radio show, she asked listeners: what is the kindest thing someone has done for you?

Broadcasted exclusively worldwide on W!ZARD Radio Station.
