For this week’s episode, the boys kick things off by celebrating the return of Channel U. A childhood staple in all their lives, the boys reflect on their memories and experiences with the channel, while putting forth ideas about how they should position themselves in 2020.

Lupe Fiasco caused enormous debate among Hip-Hop purists and Gen Z fans online when he tweeted that he’s a better lyricist than Kendrick Lamar. Spurring a discussion about what constitutes “real lyricism” and whether elitist and classist ideals play a part these designations.

Acclaimed music institution Rolling Stone recently unveiled their new and revised list of the The 500 Greatest Albums of All Time, updating the so-called definitive music canon to be more inclusive of people of colour and women. The boys revel in the some of the new additions of particular artists and genres, but they also point out the arbitrary nature of lists like this. What purpose do they serve in this day and age?

Rounding off the episode this week is Tory Lanez who has controversially decided to address the Megan Thee Stallion allegations by releasing an album of passive-aggressive and self-centred tracks.
